2015 Doctoral Hooding Ceremony & Commencement

The 2015 Doctoral Hooding Ceremony was held in Royce Hall on Thursday, June 12, 2015.

The 2014-2015 Class

A total of 772 doctoral degrees were awarded. 318 graduates participated in the ceremony. UCLA has awarded more than 32,000 doctoral degrees since 1939.

Gender:  45% Female, 55% Male

Average age:  33

The youngest graduate was 24 years old. The oldest was 73 years old.

Four different degree types:

    1. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD, 742)
    2. Doctor of Education (EdD, 25)
    3. Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA, 4)

  1. Doctor of Environmental Science and Engineering (DEnv, 1)

79 different majors

Engineering awarded the most degrees (21%), followed by followed by Physical Sciences (16%), Social Sciences (12%) and Humanities (11%).

150 faculty members attended the ceremony.
