Conferences, Events, Resources and Other Diversity Programs

Take Five at 5

This event occurs on the First Thursday of each quarter and features a delectable selection of wine, cheese, fruit and desert, as well as music from your favorite jazz artists. The event is designed to give UCLA graduate students, faculty, and Graduate division staff an opportunity to network.

UCLA-California State University Collaboration

The CSUs are leaders in educating the most diverse student populations in California, and their students are an important component in achieving academic excellence at UCLA. In 2006, CSU students comprised 16% of all new master’s and 15% of all new doctoral students from underrepresented backgrounds at UCLA. Moreover, their degree completion success compares favorably with the overall population of graduate students.

As part of the UCLA-CSU Collaboration, UCLA works closely with CSU campuses to assist students in transitioning smoothly from the CSU to doctoral programs with activities such as admissions workshops and on-campus visits. UCLA welcomes CSU Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholars to participate in an eight-week intensive summer internship program with UCLA faculty. Many of the CSU Pre-Doc Scholars continue on to graduate school at UCLA.
