The Dashew Center for International Students & Scholars provides specialized services to international students attending UCLA. The Dashew Center also supports international and intercultural programs.
The services include issuance of visa documents (I-20 or DS-2019 forms), personal counseling on visa and immigration issues, along with appropriate forms and documents; financial and tax matters; academic adjustment; insurance; release of funds from other countries and questions of personal adjustment, along with help in understanding the culture and systems of UCLA.
The Dashew Center also offers services which assist students to adjust to the community, including housing assistance, community services, friendship families and English conversation groups.
Prior to the beginning of each quarter, special assistance is available to international students entering UCLA from other U.S. or foreign schools; this includes a mandatory orientation. Given UCLA’s variety of opportunities, size and complexity, new students find the Dashew Center’s individual assistance, seminars, workshops and other programs contribute to academic success and complement orientation activities in academic departments.
To begin an introduction to the campus, new students should visit the Dashew Center for International Students & Scholars, 106 Bradley International Hall, 417 Charles E. Young Dr. West, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1379, Monday-Friday from 8:30AM to 5PM, or call (310) 825-1681.
