Interested in pursuing two degrees at the same time? Established concurrent and articulated degree programs offer the potential of earning two degrees in less time than it would normally take by following the programs separately. Students undertake an integrated curriculum of greater breadth between two disciplines.
There’s a big difference between concurrent programs and articulated programs, though: Concurrent programs allow a specified amount of credit to apply towards both degrees; articulated programs don’t allow any credit overlap.
Be sure to read all the information from each school or department. There may be special requirements, and program deadlines may differ. If they do, submit the application by the first deadline.
In the application, look for concurrent and articulated degree programs at the bottom of the list of majors on the Plans for Graduate Study page.
If you’re interested in Public Health programs in conjunction with African Studies or with the School of Medicine, contact the School of Public Health only after admission and registration in the other area. For more information, see the UCLA General Catalog.
If the MBA is part of the program you’ve selected, you should also complete the application of the Anderson Graduate School of Management. Supporting materials (transcripts, test scores etc.) should be submitted to both the MBA program and the concurrent degree program.
DDS, JD and MD degree programs also have separate application procedures. If you’re interested in a program that includes pursuit of those degrees, contact the respective schools for additional information and application requirements.
Please note that individually designed articulated degree programs are not available to applicants. Other than to the programs listed below, applicants may apply to one program only.
