Doctoral Hooding Ceremony Information for Faculty

Please continue to check back for further details and updates with regard to the full schedule, logistical details, etc.

RSVP and Attendance

An invitation and RSVP link will be sent to all UCLA Faculty in April for the June 12th (for the Class of 2025) doctoral hooding ceremony. Faculty can RSVP by completing the Doctoral Hooding faculty reply form.

Faculty will be seated on stage facing the audience behind the platform party. The stage can only accommodate 100 faculty members. Overflow seating will be available at the front of the auditorium. Seats on stage will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

NOTE:  Due to the high number of graduates and time constraints, pre-designated hooding marshals from the platform party will hood the candidates, rather than dissertation committee members.

Regalia

The Division of Graduate Education DOES NOT order academic regalia.

If you are planning to attend either ceremony, please complete the faculty regalia order form and email it to Jason Amorosi (jamorosi@asucla.ucla.edu).  Please write in the date of the ceremony you will be attending (June 12th Doctoral Hooding Ceremony).  Relevant deadlines for the form, depending on regalia type and ceremony, are below.

Non-UC regalia for the June 12th ceremony
April 4th
UC regalia for the June 12th ceremony
May 23rd
Regalia deliveries for the June 12th ceremony will begin on:
June 2nd

If you are attending the June 12th ceremony, you can place regalia orders online via MyUCLA by May 23rd. Regalia from other universities (not UCLA) must be ordered by April 4, 2025 for guaranteed delivery. After April 4, only UCLA regalia (blue and gold) will be available to order. Orders will be accepted through May 23, 2025. After this date, please contact Jason Amorosi at (310) 206-1442, or jamorosi@asucla.ucla.edu. Faculty deliveries will begin June 2, 2025.

You can return the regalia at Royce after the ceremony.

It will get very warm on stage, so please wear light clothing underneath your regalia.

Security

We have worked hard to ensure the doctoral ceremony is the joyous and celebratory event the graduates deserve. We ask that you review our clear bag policy and list of prohibited items for the ceremony. These policies apply to all guests and participants, including faculty.
