RSVP and Attendance
An invitation will be sent to all UCLA Faculty in mid-April 2016. Faculty can RSVP their planned attendance at the Doctoral Hooding ceremony (and other commencement ceremonies), as well as order their regalia via MyUCLA. Department coordinators can also RSVP and order regalia on behalf of faculty via the MyUCLA commencement administrator interface. If you are a department administrator and don’t have access to the MyUCLA commencement administrator interface, please contact GDevents@grad.ucla.edu and provide the following: name (last, first); UID; email; and phone.
Special Guest Tickets
Should faculty wish to request up to two (2) special Faculty Guest tickets (seats will be in a pre-designated reserved section in the orchestra level), please email email@example.com with the request. If requested, faculty guest tickets can be mailed to campus addresses through June 1, 2016. Thereafter or by request, they will be held at the Graduate Division office (1237 Murphy Hall) for pick-up.
The Graduate Division DOES NOT order academic regalia.
In addition to placing regalia orders via MyUCLA (links above), regalia can also be ordered by completing the Graduation, Etc. order form and faxing it to x52794. Regalia from other universities (not UCLA) must have been ordered by April 8, 2016 for guaranteed delivery. After April 8th, only UCLA regalia (blue and gold) will be available to order. Orders will be accepted up until commencement weekend. Faculty deliveries will begin May 31, 2016 and continue thru Commencement weekend, as later orders are received.

It has a tendency to get very warm on stage, so please wear lightweight clothing underneath your regalia.
“Day of Event” Timeline
Event staff will be on-site and available to provide information and assistance on the day of the ceremony.
1:30 p.m. Graduate and Faculty reception on the West Terrace of Royce Hall
2:20 p.m. Doors open in the auditorium for guest seating
2:40 p.m. Processional line-up begins
3:00 p.m. The official party leads the faculty processional on the stage
The graduate processional follows
5:00 p.m. Post-ceremony reception on Royce Quad
Once the hooding ceremony commences, chairs, co-chairs and members of a dissertation committee should plan to stand when the candidate(s) crosses the stage to be hooded. This will be announced at the beginning of the ceremony.
NOTE: Due to the high number of graduates and time constraints, pre-designated faculty hooding marshals will hood the candidates rather than individual dissertation committee members.
Official Platform Party
If you are a member of academic leadership or have been designated as a hooding, reading or faculty processional marshal, you will receive separate, specific instructions from the Graduate Division.
