In addition to the University's minimum requirements and those listed above, all applicants are expected to submit M.A.: Statement of purpose and a writing sample. Samples of creative work relevant to proposed graduate research are welcome but not required. Applicants should refer to the F.A.Q.s on the departmental website for more information. Applicants are normally expected to hold a master's degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university. Since master's and doctoral applications are reviewed separately, applicants must clearly designate to which degree program they are seeking admission. Applicants are encouraged to keep in mind their ultimate degree objectives. Those whose ultimate degree objective is admission to the doctoral program are encouraged to apply to that program directly and to describe in their statements of purpose teir intention of moving through the master's program en route to the doctoral program. |
