Degree-Specific Admissions Requirements

In addition to the University's minimum requirements and those listed above, all applicants are expected to submit the Electrical and Computer Engineering section of the application and a statement of purpose.

Ph.D.: Applicants interested in a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering are not required to have completed the master's degree in order to be considered for admission. Those admitted to the Ph.D. program without a master's degree are required to complete the UCLA M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering while proceeding toward the Ph.D. Applicants currently finishing a B.S. or an M.S. may apply for the Ph.D. Applicants without a master's degree may be considered for the M.S. if not recommended for the Ph.D.

To be considered for admission, Ph.D. applicants should have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 to be competitive.
