In addition to the University's minimum requirements and those listed above, all applicants are expected to submit a statement of purpose. A bachelor's degree in a physical science, engineering, mathematics or other related field is required. Undergraduate students with a strong preparation in planetary science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, engineering, geology or geochemistry are especially encouraged to apply Applicants must have outstanding records in the relevant basic sciences and mathematics. Qualified students may proceed directly toward the Ph.D., although most obtain the M.S. degree in the process. |
