In addition to the University's minimum requirements and those listed above, all applicants are expected to submit a Resume/CV, a Statement of Purpose and to indicate up to two prospective faculty mentors.

Applications must be complete and received by the department by the deadline to be considered.

An interview (either in person or by phone) is required for all finalists.

The department regards a broad undergraduate background in the behavioral, biological, physical, computational, and social sciences as the best preparation for graduate study in communication. It is desirable, but not required, to have majored in communication or a closely allied discipline as an undergraduate. Some college coursework in statistics or advanced mathematics is required.
