In addition to the University's minimum requirements and those listed above, all applicants are expected to submit a statement of purpose.

Applicants must present an excellent undergraduate record in addition to meeting the University minimum requirements.

Applicants are expected to hold a bachelor's degree with at least one semester or quarter of college-level coursework in upper division quantum mechanics, and at least one semester or quarter of college-level coursework in upper division electricity and magnetism. Please note that Advanced Placement (AP) courses do not fulfill this requirement.
