In addition to the major code 210University's minimum requirements and those listed above, a Statement of Purpose and resume are required. The department has its own screening procedure which comprises two phases: Phase 1 is the application and video audition; phase 2 is by invitation for an audition and interview. The audition evaluates applicants' creative potential and technical proficiency with consideration toward applicants' primary focus. A statement of purpose is required. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional promise in choreography. For phase 1 of the application process, applicants submit two video samples of choreographic work. Those invited to audition (phase 2) present an additional work. Applicants are required to prepare a statement (no more than one page) describing the works shown. Applicants should contact the program for specific guidelines. Applicants are strongly recommended to attain post baccalaureate studies (including workshops, intensives, etc.) and/or choreographic experiences prior to applying to the program. |
