In addition to the University's minimum requirements and those listed above, applicants should submit a writing sample and a statement of purpose that clearly delineates the disciplinary areas the applicant would like to work in and the applicant's background for doing research in those areas. One official bachelor's (and master's, if applicable) degree transcript must be sent directly to the Institute's address. Applicants must meet the university's minimum requirements for the bachelor's degree. Applicants who hold an M.S. or M.A. degree should have completed that program with at least a 3.25 grade-point average. Desirable attributes of applicants include competency in the fundamental material underlying one or more of the program's disciplines, an identified interest in solving a particular environment and sustainability challenge, and an expressed interest in a particular interdisciplinary environment and sustainability challenge. The availability and willingness of faculty advisors in an applicant's area of interest is also a factor in admissions decisions. |
