Library Company of Philadelphia, Research Fellowships In American History & Culture

Description   The Library Company of Philadelphia (LCP) awards up to 25 1-month residential fellowships for dissertation or postdoc research in the history of North America. Awards provide support for one month of research in residence at The Library Company of Philadelphia and The Historical Society of Pennsylvania (HSP). These two independent research libraries, adjacent to each other in Center City Philadelphia, have complementary collections capable of supporting research in a variety of fields and disciplines relating to the history of America and the Atlantic world from the 17th through the 19th centuries, as well as Mid-Atlantic regional history to the present. 
Award Amount   Stipend of $2,000. 
Disciplines   Humanities. Social Sciences. Open to fields related to American history and culture up to about 1880. 
Academic Level   Working on Doctoral Dissertation. Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   No citizenship requirements.  
Requirements   Project proposals should demonstrate that the Library Company has primary materials central to the research topic. Candidates are encouraged to inquire about the appropriateness of proposed research topic before applying. Resume. 1 letter of recommendation.
